Today I would love to share with you about the Art & Science of the Kaizen Way.

Years ago, I came across the book One small step can change your life: the Kaizen Way” by Robert Maurer.

Kaizen means “change for the better

It’s a subtle technique used by Japanese companies to reach their business goals successfully.

According to the author we all can apply the Kaizen principles into our personal lives to manifest our dreams with much more ease.

Why the Kaizen way works…..(according to this book)

All changes, even the positive ones, are scary.

Trying to achieve goals in a big and dramatic way often fail, because they increase the level of fear and anxiety.

The small simple steps of Kaizen will significantly “fool” the amygdala (the part of the brain that controls our flight and fight respons).

Instead of releasing all kinds of stress related hormones (cortisol, adrenaline) it is more likely to release “happy” hormones.

This helps us to be more creative, resourceful and we are receptive to solutions more easily.

The Kaizen way / technique is very simple:

  • ask simple questions
  • think simple thoughts
  • take simple actions
  • solve small problems
  • give yourself little rewards regularly
  • recognize small moments of victory and celebrate
